ECB’s Schnabel: Rate cycle near end as medium-term inflation steadies

The monetary policy cycle is approaching its end as medium-term inflation aligns with the target, said Isabel Schnabel, Executive Board member of the European Central Bank, according to slides from a presentation in Brussels.

Despite global fragmentation and trade tensions, the ECB’s economic projections remain positive, Schnabel added: “Growth prospects remain broadly stable despite the trade conflict, with medium-term inflation close to target.”
