Istat: industrial and service sector revenue increases in January

Today, Istat released the report on industry revenue for January 2025, which showed positive growth in industrial turnover indices. Both the domestic market, which saw a 3.9% increase in value and volume, and the foreign market, which grew by 3.6% in value and 4.4% in volume, recorded positive trends.
The services sector increased by 1.2% in value and 0.9% in volume, similar to the wholesale trade (+0.9% in value and +0.3% in volume) and other services (+1.6% in value and +1.3% in volume). In January, the seasonally adjusted turnover indices also showed growth for key industrial groups, with significant increases in intermediate goods (+4.2%), capital goods (+4.0%), consumer goods (+3.8%), and energy, which saw a more modest rise (+0.3%).
The industrial sector's turnover—corrected for calendar effects—saw a 1.7% increase in value and a 0.9% increase in volume for the November 2024 - January 2025 quarter. According to Istat’s data, both the industrial and service sectors grew in January 2025, although accommodation and food services experienced a slight decline compared to December 2024.
