Manufacturing confidence also rises
Meanwhile, Italy's manufacturing confidence index rose to 86.8 in January 2025, up from a revised 85.9 in December and exceeding market expectations of 85.5. Sentiment improved across key indicators, with expectations for the economy (-15.8 vs. -17.3 in December 2024), production (-0.2% vs. -0.7%), cash availability (-6.6 vs. -7.4), and employment (-1.3 vs. -2.2) all becoming less negative. Additionally, businesses remained optimistic about new orders in the next three months, with an indicator reading of 0.4.
