The decline was mainly driven by weaker sentiment toward purchasing durable goods, which dropped to 29.4 from 29.9 in November, indicating cautious consumer behavior. Additionally, views on overall livelihood softened slightly, with the index falling to 34.1 from 34.3, suggesting a slight dip in confidence regarding personal financial situations. However, there were some positive signs, as confidence in income growth held steady at 40.2, signaling that consumers did not expect major disruptions to their earnings.
