Retail sales in Switzerland increased by 0.8% year-on-year in November 2024, falling short of market expectations for a 1.2% rise and slowing from an upwardly revised 1.5% gain in October.

This marked the weakest growth since June, with a significant slowdown in non-food products, which rose by just 0.1% compared to 3.2% in October. Sales at service stations also saw a slight acceleration, rising by 2.6% compared to 2.2% the previous month. On a more positive note, food, beverages, and tobacco sales saw a notable increase, climbing by 1% in November, up from 0.5% in October.
