Swiss investors' pessimism worsens

UBS, in partnership with the CFA Society Switzerland, reported that survey participants have lowered their expectations for both short- and long-term interest rates, following the Swiss National Bank's (SNB) larger-than-anticipated rate cut in December.

Outlook remains unchanged

“The long-term outlook remains largely unchanged since September, with Swiss economic growth likely to range between 1-2% and inflation staying within the SNB’s target of 0-2%,” UBS noted. Meanwhile, the current conditions index declined by 6.8 points, reaching 13.1 in December 2024.
