Switzerland’s non-farm payrolls increased by 1.2% year-on-year, reaching a record high of 5.528 million in Q3 2024, following a 1.3% rise in the previous quarter.
Swiss non-farm payrolls hit fresh high
Employment in the industrial sector grew by 0.7% to 1.139 million, with gains observed across all major areas: mining and quarrying (+0.7%), manufacturing (+0.2%), electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (+6.3%), water supply and waste management (+0.3%), and construction (+1.2%).
Service sector sees payrolls increase
Meanwhile, the services sector saw a 1.3% rise in payrolls to 4.389 million, driven by notable increases in water and transport services (+13.8%) and real estate activities (+6.9%).
