The Swiss investors’ sentiment index dropped by 4.7 points from the previous month to 12.4 in November 2024, marking its fourth consecutive month in negative territory and the steepest decline in the sequence.
Swiss investors pessimism deepens
According to UBS, which collaborates with the CFA Society Switzerland to release the indicator, survey participants have significantly raised their inflation expectations in Switzerland, the Eurozone, and particularly the US.
US vote impact
"The election of Donald Trump is expected to increase US growth, inflation, and long-term interest rates throughout 2025 and 2026. The US dollar is expected to depreciate against the Swiss franc in the longer term," UBS stated. Meanwhile, the current conditions gauge rose by 6.4 points to 17.2 in November 2024.
