The Euro Area's current account surplus expanded to €51.5 billion in September 2024, up from €34.6 billion in the same month last year.
Euro area current account surplus rises in September
The goods surplus increased to €33.6 billion from €29.4 billion, while the services surplus rose to €22.2 billion from €17.2 billion. The primary income surplus also grew to €9.1 billion, up from €3 billion, and the secondary income deficit narrowed to €13.3 billion from €15 billion.
Seasonally adjusted figures
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the current account surplus widened to €37 billion in September, compared to €35.4 billion the previous month.
