Japan's reserve assets fell to $1.24 trillion in October 2024, down from $1.25 trillion in September, which had been the highest level in five months.

The total reserve assets consisted of foreign currency reserves ($1.08 trillion), the IMF reserve position ($10.48 billion), Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) ($58.51 billion), gold ($74.37 billion), and other reserve assets ($15.13 billion).

Additionally, the finance ministry reported that it spent 5.53 trillion yen in July for foreign exchange intervention to support the yen.
