This marks the lowest level since November 2020, further distancing itself from the long-term average of 100. Manufacturers expressed increased pessimism about overall order books (-26 vs. -18 in September) and foreign order books (-23 vs. -9).
France's manufacturing outlook worsens as economic uncertainty rises
Assessments of general production expectations worsened (-12 vs. -11), while outlooks for personal production (-3 vs. 6) and workforce changes (-2 vs. 1) also turned hostile. Perceived economic uncertainty rose sharply to 26, from 20 in the prior month. On a positive note, expectations for selling price trends improved (6 vs. 2).
