Consumer confidence in the eurozone continued its upward trend this month, according to official data released on Tuesday.
European consumer confidence improves in October
The European Commission's flash estimate showed that consumer confidence in the European Union rose to minus 11.2 points in October, up from minus 11.7 in September.
This marks the first time since February 2022 that EU consumer confidence has returned to its long-term average, the report noted.
Confidence improves in Eurozone as well
In the euro area, confidence also improved, increasing to minus 12.5 from minus 12.9 in September, in line with FXStreet's consensus expectations. However, the report highlighted that consumer confidence in the eurozone still remains slightly below its long-term average.
