Denmark's consumer confidence index dropped to -8.9 in October 2024, down from -6.8 in September, marking the lowest since December 2023.

Households were notably more pessimistic about their financial situation than a year ago (-8.9 vs -4.2 in September) and the climate for major purchases (-16.1 vs -14.6). Additionally, consumer expectations for their finances turned negative (-1.0 vs 2.9). On the other hand, views on the country's economic situation for the next year improved slightly (-8.5 vs -9.5).

Price growth expectations rise, unemployment outlook worsens in Denmark

Outside the main index, expectations for price growth in the next year rose (21.0 vs 19.7), while unemployment expectations worsened (10.2 vs 9.5).
