The consumer confidence indicator in the Netherlands fell to -22 in October 2024, down from -21 in the previous month, remaining well below its twenty-year average of -10.
Dutch consumer morale remains negative
Consumers were more pessimistic about the general economic situation over the past 12 months (-46 vs. -45 in September) but showed slight improvement for the next 12 months (-28 vs. -29). Views on household financial situations were also mixed, with perceptions for the previous 12 months at -9 (vs. -7) and optimism for the coming 12 months falling to 3 (vs. 4).
