U.S. jobless data fell short of expectations, data from the U.S. Department of Labor showed Thursday.
US jobless claims fall short of expectations
For the week ended Oct. 12, seasonally adjusted advance initial claims fell to 241,000 from 260,000 the week before, revised up from 258,000. That was below the FXStreet consensus of 260,000 claims.
The 4-week moving average was 263,250, up from 231,500, revised from 231,000.
Seasonally adjusted advance insured unemployment for the week ended Oct. 5 was 1.867 million, up from 1.858 million, revised down 3,000 from 1.861 million.
The 4-week moving average was around 1.843 million, up from 1.831 million, revised down 750 from around 1.832 million.
