Microtest, an Italian company specializing in semiconductor testing equipment and 60% controlled by Xenon Private Equity (see BeBeez article), is now eyeing expansion into the United States.

The Lucca-based group has received approval from the U.S. government to acquire Focused Test, a firm specializing in testing silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) microchips, with operations in Boulder (U.S.) and Cabuyao (Philippines).
Microtest was supported in the acquisition by Deloitte (financial and tax due diligence) and Pavia e Ansaldo (legal aspects).
Founded in August 2006, Focused Test has more than 25 years of experience in the U.S. market, focusing on the design of production testers for discrete power devices and power management integrated circuits. The company achieved $3 million in revenue in 2023 and employs 15 people.
