i-Foria Italia raises round of 1.7 million euros

The round was led by Tech4Planet, the National Technology Transfer Hub for Environmental Sustainability, promoted by CDP Venture Capital, and MITO Tech Ventures, a venture capital fund (Article 9 SFDR) launched by MITO Technology. Founded by Marcello Somma (CEO) and Giuseppe Landolfo (CFO), i-Foria Italia has developed and patented a groundbreaking technology capable of recycling up to 100% of waste from personal absorbent products (PAP), such as diapers and similar items. This process converts waste into secondary raw materials—absorbent material and plastic—which can be reintegrated into new production cycles.

Circular economy business

This innovation makes a substantial contribution to the creation of a true circular economy. The process not only meets the highest safety standards but also provides a tangible solution to reducing the massive amount of PAP waste, which currently poses a serious environmental issue for many countries. The investment round led by Tech4Planet and MITO Tech Ventures will be used to validate the technology and scale up the first industrial plants in Italy.
